Donation FAQ
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. The Horse of Many Colors Cancer Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 47-5235570). Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Zeffy will send you a receipt automatically after your gift is processed.
Does any of my donation go to platform fees?
No. We use Zeffy, which charges zero platform fees to nonprofits. 100% of what you donate reaches the Foundation. Zeffy is funded by optional tips donors can leave — but that's entirely your choice, and it doesn't affect how much we receive.
Can I make a recurring monthly donation?
Yes — Zeffy supports recurring donations. When you go to the donation form, you'll see the option to make your gift monthly. Even a small recurring amount compounds into meaningful help over time.
Can I donate in honor or memory of someone?
Absolutely. You can add a note to your donation on the Zeffy form with the name you'd like to honor. If you'd like us to share that with the family being supported, include it in your note and we'll make sure it reaches them.
How do I know my donation is going to real families?
Every gift we receive stays in our community or reaches a family we've directly vetted and selected. Individual donations are used to provide direct support to the people we serve. Corporate sponsorships and other designated funding help cover organizational and event expenses. Our financials are available through our Candid nonprofit profile.
